Now you can use Facebook Messenger in Android Auto
Facebook Messenger can now integrate with Android Auto,
the social network announced today, allowing users of the infotainment
platform to hear and reply to messages from friends while driving their
cars. In order to use the new feature, you’ll just need to have Facebook
Messenger installed on your Android smartphone, making it so you can
use the service through either the Android Auto app, or your car’s
dashboard.
The new integration comes after Google turned its infotainment platform into an app earlier this month,
opening Android Auto up to all people with Android phones, no matter
how old their cars were. Messenger joins apps like Google Maps, Spotify,
and competitor WhatsApp on Android Auto, and offers a safer way for
road users to reply to messages, allowing them to use their voice to
either dictate a message or send a canned “I’m driving right now”
response, rather than fumble around for their phones to type a reply
while behind the wheel.
